  • The Big Push

I have been playing for a year now and realy enjoy the game despite my little problem which is a pull. The ball goes straight to the left about 10-15 yds. but no banana ball. I use a neutral interlocking grip and my alignment is on target. Takeaway is o.k. but obviuosly it is something in my downswing that is causing the problem. I have tried keeping my right elbow close to my body right before impact and that seems to work sometimes. If any of you guys can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

A dead straight pull will likely be the result of a slightly outside to in swing path with a square clubface with respect to the line that the club is travelling on. It is not easy to do but the swing path needs to be square.

One thing you might try is address the ball, then put your right foot back several inches... this will almost force you to make and inside to square swing path. You can also try any drill that will promote the inside to square swing path.

there are many things that can cause this, heres some things that might, you could be swinging with your arms to much causing an out to in pulled shot. you could be swaying, sliding back on back swing. theres just so many things we could tell ya but it will just make things worse. some thing to work on are tempo and balance, keep your feet close together and take some practice swings working on keeping your balance, hit some balls only taking 3/4 swings, work on keeping your head still, dont worry where ball goes but youll be suprised at how straight it will go. take it slow and have fun
