dont aim straight

the hardest shot in golf is hitting it straight right?? so why aim straight, i can hit my driver only 240 or so yards straight, aim a little to the left swing with all my speed i get 260-270 with a curve


what i am saying is if you slice when you swing your hardes why dont you just aim the other way....i dont know about yall but my 30 yard slice is much more consistent that my straight shot

go with what works for you. Don't forget most pros want to hit a fade.

I always thought the ideal shot is a draw. What happened here?

A draw is what amauters are after and yes pros do hit draws, but the best golfers in the world and some of the best who have ever lived hit fades. ie Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan

Theoretically:

You would draw the ball off the tee for extra yardage, and fade the ball into the green for more control and a faster stop.

I to aim down the left side and fade it to the middle. It works well in a large fairway. In narrow fairways i take some off. If it stays in the fairway i don't care how it got there. hahahahahaa. if you can do it all the time you are playing good golf

But if you fix your swing so you can hit with all your speed and still get it straight or better yet a draw, you should be able to get probably 280-300? The fade does take off some distance ya?

A fade is MUCH easier to control than a draw

I did not know that the long drivers hit a fade. I will keep pounding them down the left side. thanks for the info

there is a difference between a fade and a slice.. There is a difference between tigers swing path and someone who swings outside in, lets not start getting these things confused

A lot of people fade the ball because of how they setup. Although the lower body and feet are square the upper body is pointing left. This encourages the outside to in swing path. I only found this out by having it proved to me and for a long while after when i set my shoulders square it felt like I was aiming 20 yards right of the target. Apparently its to do with how you lift your head from your stance to see where you are aiming

yeah ive found out the open shoulders thing, it helps to come into the stance with the club in your left hand, helps keep the shoulder in line

Nice site on how (not) to develop a fade and draw, and yep it has quite a lot to do with body alignment.
