Thats roughly what I was on about

for a pro the normally release later then most people. Also, by having forward shaft lean, right wrist bent back at impact and a FLEXED rear elbow, they still have some extension left untill after the ball. A LOT of this is taken care of with a good swing path on the downswing. If your rear elbow is straight and rear wrist straight at impact you have nothing left to extend through the shot. From what I have heerd, tigers swing speed is still around 125-128 but for some reason he is BOMBING it past everyone else and his bombs are DEEp. ask phil when they played at doral. but do you think on his drives that he hit is 30 yards past phill he swung 13 mph faster then phil? NO, but when the ball left the face he was 13 or so mph faster then phil

        just watched the vid
because your backswing is so short it makes it real easy for you to continuasly accelerate through the shot. Ever seee jason gores swing, it is short too but he hits it long.
        use two examples
hit ball at 105, leave the ball at 105
hit ball at 115 and leave at 100, and yes 15 mph slow down from impact to seperation is EASY some people can slow down 20+mph

        so who hits ball farther

The Local Pro told me to not bother about how short my backswing is, he said I generate plenty of power from it already, and because it's so short I also can control my shots alot easier, he is focusing on other area's that need attending.

I played in the local comp the other day and won C Grade with a 64 net off a 25 HCP. My HCP has now dropped to 22 from 26 within a space of 9 days and 2 rounds. With my 64 net it was a 89 Gross, so in 2 weeks I have gone from shooting no better than 103 to shooting a 93 9 days ago and a 89 2 days ago.

            Eastly,

Just had chance to view your swing vids, You have what we call a cricketers swing, you will find alot of people who play cricket swing a golf club like you, and with a lot of success.

I'll explain, you are slightly inside going back, in a long swing this is a problem, in yours however with the shortness of the swing it makes no difference because you come back exactly on the same plane a true one planer.

You create so much distance due to the torque in your body, needed to make a short swing powerfull, i suspect when you go back you feel like you couldn't go any further due to the tightness in your sides (correct), this is torque, all good players can create this effortlessly.

You will be a great player, if you work hard on your short game and have the mental strength.

A great swing, don't change it.

            Ian.

Maybe keeping the left foot flat will create even more power.

Thanks for the kind words man. I struggle to swing all the way back because I have a lack of flexibility and I have tendan damage in my left wrist so I can't cock my wrist like I should, I also have 2 prolapsed discs in my back which don't help so the shorter swing takes off a bit of the strain on my back.

I have amazed a few people at my local club because within 10 or so days I cut 10 shots off my best score, and I have done it twice, some people look at my short swing and just stand there and wonder how but hey like you said it works and don't change it.

By the way I use to play cricket, was one of the best in school, could hit a mile.

                Re: My Golf Swing

i have had trouble striking he ball and found that by swinging simular to you, (way inside and compact) i can hit directly down on the ball consisantly. the wedge goes abou 100 to 110 straght. i have also learend i can draw or fade the mid irons this way. my drive is consitantly straight. and your correct my side gets really tigh with this kind of swing really quick.

i am trying to learn a less inside swing for long irons and drives

Yeah I should try the same thing, But I am now pretty known around my local club for my last few performances, if I try something with my swing I might stuff it up.
