  • help needed!

    Hello all!

I'm new to this website and was wanting to know if someone can help me fix my swing. I play off about 12 but want to get the handicap down somehow!

My main problem as I see it now is that I seem to take the club too far on the inside on the takeaway and tend come down with a cut across the ball or a pull hook. I'm wondering if anyone has a key swing thought on the takeaway and also if you consciously break the wrists at a certain time? Do we think that lifting the right heel (I play left-handed) is a good idea to get a better turn going or should a focus on hip and shoulder turn be sufficient?

Well if you think of a tilted circle, and you concentrate when striking the ball of bringing it round then you should hit it straight. Hope you understand what I mean.

Go to www.pga.com then click on improve my game, then choose the video 'driven to perfection' then a box should open asking what speed and player do you want the video to run. Below that there is another video 'swing plane' (Guy with red shirt).

              Hello Steven,

I can suggest a few things:

              - Video your swing especially with the longer clubs which I assume you are having issues with, at least this way you can pinpoint where you are going wrong.

              - Take you club back slowly, make sure your shoulder does not dip

              - Try adjusting your grip

              - If all else fails, get a lesson; you probably have too many bad habits.

              - Also work on your short game you might be able to bring you handi-cap down by a few.

              Good Luck

                stuey,
all the things that thing does can be achieved using a club shaft and headcover. But the video that it comes with is probably the most important part of the whole deal so you can see what to do.
