  • hips position in the set up

I have recently had a lesson with a new instructor.
After the initial set up, one of the things he did was to move my hips to the left and commence the swing from that position.....in other words, load the left hip!
The position feels OK and it is probably easier to get the weight back to the left on the downswing.
    What are your thoughts?

Good idea. Most pros set their left foot at a 45 degree angle and I think that does the same thing.

Yes they turn their foot 45 instead of 90 and this opens up the hips a bit. I have always been an advocate that yes you will swing how you set up but the ball will not go where the feet are aimed it will go where the clubface and shoudlers are aimed.
