  • Elbow position at set-up

Probably a personal thing but id be interested to know just how close to the body people set up their elbows on full swings

I've been experimenting with having my elbows right into the bottom of my rib cage at address rather than just the top of the arms. This seems to have 'softened' my right arm a little at address but I am hitting the ball really well. Means bending slightly more from the hips but it feels like I have a lot less tension in my arms and a lot more in my shoulders/back/pelvis

Is there a right way here? Or is it a personal thing?

    Re: Elbow position at set-up

left arm straight, right elbow slightly bent. This allows you to set up with square shoulders and prepares the right arm for folding in the backswing. SO if your right/rear arm is touching your ribcage, you left/front arm is slightly above that.
