It's Ok now for the link...

For the swing... it's difficult to say... I let it for experts...

It's difficult to say because there isn't a ball... and it's really different with a ball... I can just say, that your finish is poor... you don't stay in position (iron swing) ... and that's important.

Re: Can you please analyze my swing?

I'm pretty new to golf too... but a few things I've noticed:

You're straightening your right leg at the top of your back swing - this is meant to stay flexed. I struggled with this when I started!

It looks like your lifting the club with your arms - think of it more of rotating your shoulders around your spine. This has really helped my game the past few weeks.

I think generally you're over-swinging and you seem to loose your balance in your second iron swing video. Try and hold your finish to make sure you stay in balance.

It's good that you maintain your spine angle through your backswing, but I think you need to keep this all the way through your swing into the follow through.

            Have fun!

            Jonathan

Alright man Im no PGA pro but I did notice some observations from your swing. First off, your using way to much arm movement on the downswing, which is creating the over the top movement. You have wayyy to much lower body movement which is orchestrating the whole swing, rather than making a solid shoulder turn which in effect would allow you to hit the ball more from the inside. Try not to sway your body so much on your back swing, keep your knees bent and dont move them "with" the club. Your downswing is alot better than your backswing, except for the fact that your coming over the top, which will cause that huge slice you were having troubles with. You also have a "Chicken wing" effect on your follow through, look at your elbows, which means you have to rotate your forearms on the followthrough which will allow you to square the clubface. I recommend the "Inside Approach", I used to do the same thing as you did, Im around your age it looks like (18) so we are similar in terms of experience. As for the PGA pros, is my analysis of his swing accurate? Or should I stop giving tips? lol.

Re: Can you please analyze my swing?

shorten up your swing and try to slow it down just a litte bit untill u can make a full swing and are not standing in your divitand rememeber to swing more with your shoulders and not your arms

Re: Can you please analyze my swing?

This is something I just picked up from my pro in my swing. Elbows are disconnecting and too far apart at the top. Try to keep them connected (same distance) throughout your upswing and feel as if they are both pointing down at the top of your swing. I think at least this swing thought will help to 'tame' your swing a bit

                  Cheers.

Same as other guys, not long playing golf either, so not going to analyse your swing, just a few things that helped me. As was said before, slow down the swing, watch good golfers, see where they are at 6" into takeaway, where their hips are, hands are and flex in their knees etc. Keep copying this and it will get you on the right road. Only do one thing at a time though. Takes a bit of work this way, but you should try and get a lesson with a local pro too. Few lessons helps a lot, with plenty practice inbetween. Your swing is athletic and has plenty potential to become a good controlled, powerful swing. Keep at it!

                      Fahie:

Here is my 2 cents: I tried playing golf with purely athletic ability for a long time, but when I discovered the value of a proper setup (posture, stance), my game inproved dramatically. 5 capper

I set up to the ball with a slight bend from the hips, knees slightly flexed, and then I pinch both knees in toward one another so that I am "flexibly locked" in place. After that setup i do not think another thought about my lower body....nothing! Then I use shoulders for backswing and downsing. This is simply turning your torso over your lower body, any lower body movement that happens, just happens like it is supposed to with no help from my brain, and it allows you to coil up.

No other drill or exercise improved my ball striking and overall game than this simple setup technique.

Re: Can you please analyze my swing?

There are a lot of drills you can try. I think this one might help. Put a headcover under your left arm. Swing keeping the headcover there. What I think you will fill is a more controlled swing, more connection of your arms to your body. On the foward you should feel the left arm folding up. try this with half swings at first.

You should *only* use this drill with a 3/4 swing.
Anything more and it will ingrain bad habits.
