  • Playing with male golfers

    Hello girls,

One to ponder. Although it's nice to hit with the ladies on our day, I find my game isn't as good as that when I play with the gents on their day. I find it more challenging and benefical, as they hit it longer and there is less chit chat. Do other female long hitters experience the same?

From a guy's prospective, there's probably less chitchat because we can't tell all the dirty stories and jokes we'd normally tell, without those there's not much else to say.

Sorry for interfering ladies, please return to your topic.

      Thanks for the reply Al,

I don't think that's the answer Al, cause I can tell a good yarn just as well as you gents. I'm a bit disappointed that no ladies have responded to this thread. I should get back to posting in the general golf discussion and not worry about contributing to the 'ladies lounge'???

        Hi Nicole,

        Thanks for the message.

It's only my experiance gained from my local club, the ladies at my club fall into two sections, there are the good lady players like yourself that enjoy the competition and the head to head challenge, there is always a little chit chat during the round but the priority is good golf.

Then there is the group that use golf for a social meeting, a good chin wag and lunch.

          Hi Nicole,

I experienced the same thing. When the number of golfers went up we seemed to split into men's vs ladies foursomes. I found my game started going downhill due to lack of competition (my handicap was quite a bit lower than the other girls). At first I didn't mind the chit chat but after a while I found it difficult to concentrate without appearing anti-social. Now we alternate the groups a bit more.
