  • My swing file

    Hello all

I have uploaded a swing for critique - ripping to shreds couldn't figure out the method on this site so hosted elsewhere:

I strugggle to keep my right elbow close to my body at the top of my swing, and also struggle to stop that awful bump with my right hip - it still bumps even if I don't reverse pivot BTW.

    Any tips most most welcome

great swing. appears on plane. Little hard to tell from the video when you pause - it looks blurry - but i think I see a breakdown of the left wrist after impact shortening your follow through. see if other see the same thing.

      Re: My swing file

      Exactly my view.........

There is a definate lack of extention through the ball, you get your hips through very well so it is dificult to tell what is causing it, usually when your hips go though well it is impossible to cut across the ball into a short followthrough.

Try to shake hands with the target on the way through.

Other than this obvious flaw the swing is truly a great swing with good rhythm, good mechanics, on plane, if anything it need a bit more power at the ball, this will help fly the arms through to a more extended position.

      9/10 for the whole swing.

Hi - thanks for the quick feedback!

Can you explain what you mean by lack of extension? Not sure I understand how you mean?

        Thanks again

          Nemo,

          No problem

Have a look at this swing click by click, just after impact the club head is still visable, yours is well inside the target line by the time you reach this position.

          http://www.golfonline.com/golfonline...634632,00.html

Look at this second one (face on) just after impact both arms are straight, yours are both bent at this point and inside the target line.

Don't panic to much this is quite easy to cure and should give you more distance, I suggest hitting a little harder at impact, you do seem to slow up slightly at impact, this could be just a little tention or snatching at the ball hence both arms bent.

It's not far off a perfect swing.

          Ian.

          Hope this helps.

Cool thanks I see it clearly! I would never have noticed! Will work on it at the range next time I go up and repost another version.

            More distance will be awsome

                Re: My swing file

So should I basically try to hit out right of the target rather than swinging my arms back in around my body so quickly? Also with straighter arms?

You kids swing looks like some of the pics you see of Tiger at a young age - I imagine he is gonna be a good player. You got a video?

My dad offered me a lengthy golf lesson package when I was about 12 which would have seen my visiting a club a few times a week for tuition - I wasn't interested and man do I regret not starting sooner.

                  Nemo,

You need to speed the impact position up slightly, this should solve the coming inside because if you go through impact correctly it should be something you dont think about, just relax and fire through, like Liam, he is so young and just doesn't think of the consiquense of a bad drive.

                  He is the clip.

You can pause the swing and move the curser frame by frame, just before impact is good too.
