Where can I get some more info on the single axis swing pioneered by Moe Norman?
There`s a taster in Golf Tips mag, but I`d really like to give this a go

Let us know how it works for you. It's something you have to commit to 100%, because it doens't "blend" well with the elements of the conventional golf swing, varied as they can be.

moe was like an unknown legend. some pros knew what this man could do with a club, but moe was very selfconscience about his very unorthadox swing and didn't play many years and most of that up in Canada.
now they've got books, schools and custom clubs. its a different brand of golf all around.

Will do - seeing my last lesson on video was such a kick in the teeth that I`ve come to the conclusion that I simply cannot swing conventionally with any consistency and I really want to try something drastically different and all I`ve read about this seems to make sense.
I'm a golfaholic, no question about that. Counseling wouldn't help me. They'd have to put me in prison, and then I'd talk the warden into building a hole or two and teach him how to play. ~Lee Trevino
Ben Hogan is a true classic single planner. You can differentiate between 2 plane and 1 plane while looking at the top of the back swing. Ben Hogan's arm and shoulder are in same plane.
The One Plane Player : Jacobson,Appleby,Vijay Singh, New Tiger Wood.
As I understand it, what is now described as the "one-plane swing" is not the same as the "single axis" swings used in Natural Golf, Symple Swing, and these other systems, although there is some overlap. For example, Natural Golf uses a palm grip, which you won't find in the 1PS. The purpose is to reduce the angle between forearms and club. For this reason, the NG swing ideally requires the use of specially fitted clubs, because the palm grip changes the club angle and therefore the lie of the club. I believe the NG clubs are a bit longer, for the same reason. The NG swing also involves a wide stance. Moe's stance was so wide that people made fun of him because of it. The wide stance reduces hip rotation. This is part of the "fewer moving parts" principle, with the goal of repeatability and accuracy.
The conventional wisdom is that since there are no tour players using the NG swing, there must be something fundamentally inferior about it. Also, a lot of people say the NG swing trades distance for accuracy. I don't think anybody really knows. Moe hit the ball a respectable distance, given the standards of his day, and the equipment in use then.
Another view is that NG is a "remedial" swing, for people who just can't learn the conventional swing (1PS or 2PS), and this is sometimes said with scorn. The way I look at it, if a "remedial" swing is what you need to play an enjoyable game of golf, then I'm all for it. Most of us are recreational golfers with nothing at stake but the enjoyment of playing the best game we are capable of. The NG swing may be just the thing to make that happen.

While experimenting with this, I had a bit of a "eureka" moment (see post about immediate cure for coming over the top)
