  • Ball Contact - High on the face towards the heel

Hit some balls tonight at the indoor dome. I was hitting everything off the heel and high on the face. Needless to say it didn't feel so great. My question is, swing faults that are causing this? I don't see how I can be hitting it off the heel like this without just smothering it over the top w/ the right hand. Lack of weight transfer to my left side probably doesn't help either? Feels like I might be a little steep.

I have the same problem with my driver. The reason I do it has to do with my change in spine angle on the downswing. I tend to straighten up and extend my R arm too early without closing clubface thus push/slicing to the right very often. I have seen it in a video and it was confirmed by a pro watching it. I have been doing some drills to offset this tendency with some improvement(chair against buttocks offered by a respected contributor in this forum) but the one that Im recently having more success with is using a shorter length driver. I am currently trying out 44" and 43.5" length ones that have slightly heavier shafts and Im getting more centered hits. Get your swing properly diagnosed by a pro. He can offer fixes pertaining to your individual swing faults.
