  • The new "X-Factor"

Has anyone heard about and used the new"X-factor" that was talked about in GOLF magazine? I tried it at the range and the ball went farther, just didn't know where it was going and it didn't feel right. didn't know if it really works or if i was doing it wrong. thanks

As in x-factor are you talking about the differential in degrees between the shoulders and hips at impact?

This is an advanced concept derived from Jim McClean. I know what he is talking about but I don't believe it is something you can consciously try to work on. You can get your hips to bump to start the downswing and then continue to turn while your upper body is still facing the ball. I don't really know how to help you but just concentrate on working the hips and see if that helps. Maybe someoneelse can help you.

I have worked on that, spnning hips to start the swing doesn't work for me... I end up hitting it into the houses and woods way to the right

I try to kick my right knee in to start downswing, this helps me to get wt shifted.

My swing on video clearly shows that my downswing with hip bump starts before club reaches the top of the swing. Not going to mess with it too much.

For most of us, hitting approach shots from the fairway from 150 yards is easier than hitting from pine needs deep in the woods from 110 yards.
