  • Pro swings on video?

Does anyone know of any resources that provide pro swing on video that you can download? I have cSwing and it comes with a lot of swings but I'm looking for more of the top players swings.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

          Great site

          Woods' is interesting

Look how much he 'sits down' as he starts his downswing. I'm not sure that would work for me

Tiger drops his weight toward the target or just left to it, but does not let his head go toward the target. It might even drop down a little in the transition from backswing to downswing. Very powerful legs!

I'd say a powerful swing, but seems to be difficult to control the accuracy:-)

You can see on that move just how much he uses his feet and legs to create leverage. Pushing his feet hard into the ground allows him to swing his arms even faster through resistance. I read somewhere that pro's extert twice their own body weight into the ground on the downswing. Not sure if thats right?

Whenever I have tried to force this downward feet movement to gain this leverage I have struggled. However clearly it is a signature of power hitters so I may go back to trying it out as I turn through. Push down and turn chest

                Re: Pro swings on video?

I have a discussion with one pro about using my legs to push for weight shift. He asked me to be very careful. I don't know why, but I think it might be the accuracy issue.

                To get power you need:
                1) shift your weight toward the target
                2) shift you weight up before impact - to pull the club to make it swing faster.
                3) and be relaxed to let the club swing fast...

Hitting hard can make your golf very interesting... you find new places to hit your ball from - if you find your ball...

BUT I have not given up on the thought of hitting hard. I have practiced martial arts for a long time and I just can not understand why the same principles would not work in golf. Basically it just hitting ... just with an issue of accuracy... but in golf you do not use maximum effort. First I have to learn to handle the golf club and after that I will try to increase power to my swing. (This does not have anything to do with dropping my handicap - for that I think one does not have to hit long drives.)

This might be just before the impact, when pro's are pushing their weight UP. Pulling the clup makes it go faster. Look how Bob raises on his toes just before impact.

His not getting the strenght from forward movement - but upward - by tightening the swing... "slinging" the golf ball. A sling gets it's power from rotation - pull - release. In a golf shot you use your hole body as a sling.
