The tee marks on the bottom of my driver indicate an outside in swing, but I was wondering if this could also be caused by having the ball too far forward in my stance. I have always had a problem with ball position being to far forward with the long stuff. If it is an outside in problem, what causes that, and what are some good drills that will cure it? I am also very inconsistent. One time I hit a good shot the next one is a weak push or pull. I think I tend to tilt my shoulders rather than rotate around the spine as well. Thanks

Re: outside in swing
First fix your set up, then fix the back swing. If you wind up correctly on the back swing unwinding in proper order, lower body first, becomes almost automatic. Many people will give you other advice, but if the first two I mentioned are not taken care of you wil just be using band aids

Try the following URL for info on outside-in.

I had an outside-in problem a few weeks back and there's no better proof to evidence this by simply placing a 50cl plastic water bottle an inch or two away from the ball when practicing. Refer to 'Golf Pull - Sound Constructive Advice Sought' thread a few pages back from this for further pointers.
