  • Arms straight at impact

If the arms are not straight when coming down from the backswing can this cause an open clubface resulting in a slice.

leading arm is straight, rear elbow is slightly bent and rear wrist is cupped, both arms are straight AFTER impact. Leading arm controls clubface rotation, so no it would not cause a slice

Also with the driver do you hold your arms far out ahead of you with it bein the longest club, but when i watch videos of profesionals with the driver there arms look slightly bent at the elbow joint and the arms are normally touching there front of the body if you know what i mean.

          Yeah

also one last thing im working on stopping the hips sliding when coming down to hit the ball,so really when hitting the ball the movement of the hips is exactly the same as the movement you make when beginning the backswing,am i right,if so i understand it so much better.

          please reply asap ty.

When the hips come through early this opens the club face creating a fade or slice.. The hips still need to come through but only after impact.

please expand, some players are as much as 50 degrees open at impact with their hips. Hips open at impact is not a bad thing, incorrect body movements are bad. A big forward slide is not always good

do you have a really wide stance? And the hip movement back is not tha same as it is through. A bent right elbow at address encourages the right arm to fold in the back swing. The right elbow being closer to the body then the left makes the shoulders square at address

No not a wide stance, all i dont understand is the movement of when the club is coming down to hit the ball, should my club be behind my legs coming through at impact,i just keep having the tendecy to slide my hips coming down to impact,so what do i do just turn the hips.
