  • Driver and fairway woods blues

Cant seem to hit with these clubs. Always seem to hit behind the ball, hook real bad or slice terribly. Cant figure it out at the range either. Any suggestions other than just go fishing?

    Setup is different then irons.

Is your ball position forward? (around the left - front - heal)
    Takaway is low and long.
Big shoulder turn back and let the shoulders do most the first move.
Make sure you stay BEHIND the ball at impact. It is easy to slide forward and let that feel like power, when it robs you of accuracy. Just rotate the hips fully prior to impact.

Try to keep the ball just off left heel. I was told once that I didnt have the ball high enough on the tee. Moved it higher and still hit the ground behind the ball.

LOL, no the position of the ball in respect to the feet in your stance. So your front foot's heal should be in a line to the placement of the ball.

(i.e. Do not have the ball sitting in the middle of your stance, you should have the ball "forward" in your stance.)

Try to keep your shoulders level throughout the swing. Maybe even have the right shoulder a little lower than the left if you are right handed.

I'll try all the suggestions and see what happens. And the way my luck is going, if the fish were biting, my boat would more than likely sink.

I work on keeping my drives going down the middle quite a bit and this is what i do. I keep the ball level with my left heel ( as stated before ) and learn slightly aways to the right ( for righties that is) and keep my head still. Set my grip and swing back and thorugh remembering not to pull my hands up on contact (as if to try and lift the ball up) and when my arms come up then a lift my head. I hope this helps in some way because it helps me.
