Snap hooking fairway woods

Lately, I've been hitting my irons fairly well, but when I put a wood in my hands, I produce a ridiculous snap hook. I'm making pretty good contact with the ball, but it starts left and then goes even further left. Any advice or drills I can use to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi: i fought this for the last year and am just now getting over it.For some reason when i had the metals(woods) in my hands i would become more arms oriented.In other words..i was not getting a shoulder turn and in turn no hip turn.When you swing with the arms only the body will turn left on the downswing long before the hands get to impact..hence closing the clubface thru impact.You are probably swinging the same way with your irons but because of the more loft of the irons..its not as noticeable.Bet you pull a lot of irons dont you.Try taking club back with the left shouder TURNING right(NOT Dipping right) and you will straighten out those drives.Let me know how it goes.David(ps..im not a golf pro but i did stay at a Holiday Inn last nite!!hehe)

Thanks for the tip. I will try it out tomorrow at the range. But you're right, I do have a tendency to hit irons left as well, but they don't draw/hook. I'll be sure to focus on turning the shoulder. Thanks again!

ok chris..make sure you get the right elbow folded going back..not letting it fly out to the right..as you turn on up to the top it will separate from your side..let it..but let it kinda hug close to your ribcage as you initially turn the right shoulder going back.You will find that your path will naturally turn in more going back putting you on plane.Let me know if you see any improvement.David
