Hi all,
First time post here. I've been having a terrible time slicing the ball and in general with my long tee shots. I recently bought a Nike titanium driver 9.5deg. Slice is even worse. I tried a little lead tape on the heel thinking that may help me get the club face square. Finally I went down to Golfsmith and climed on their swing analyzer. Here is what I found out:
1. Avg. Club Head Speed - 95
2. Avg. Ball Carry (lousey) - 208
3. Avg degree of club face at impact - 12deg open???
4. Swing path - In-Out 7deg
5. Avg Impact .25"-Toe
6. SHF 1.42 (not sure what this tells me)
I'm loosing huge distance with this slice and often getting myself in a lot of trouble. I take a strong grip, take away is close to one piece. Maybe I'm taking the club to far around and then loosing it back there? In general I think this is just a timing issue, body and hips get ahead of my arms and wrists. Any tips on getting these 2 parts in sync?
Thanks,
Scott
Just read Greg Willis' tips, sounds like I better take up tennis given my swing mechanics. Not ready for that just yet. Off to the range to try the right hand drill - Thanks Greg!
