  • Hips problem

My problem is that at the top of my swing my hips slide out from under me. I am not sure what is causing this problem. Is it that I turn my hips in my backswing, or I am trying to get the club too high? Any drills or solutions would be appreciated.

    Re: Hips problem

Think of the swing as a walk. When you walk, your arms and hips will rotate to allow the legs to move forward. You have to stay balanced or else you will fall down.

In golf, we do basically the same thing. Stay balanced so we don't fall down. Rotating is the key, and not sliding forward or back to help with power. The more you rotate and stay balanced the more power you will generate.

Try my walking drill for balance, then the wall/impact drill for rotation and flexability.
