  • a question to all the golfers in our comunity

can anyone tell me if this is true:
    I got a few drivers
    ping zing 2
    clone (pinemeadow)
    taylor made r7 9.5 stiff
now if im in the house practicing i will use the ping zing 2
i swing more or less 100 times daily (swing only)
after few months my swing start to look good,
now when i go to a golf course thing go little diferent
i got a nasty fade of slice at all the time
    my grip are very good
    my stance are also good
of course my swing are good
so the nasty fade, slice will come from the club face are open at impact time.
will this be due from practicing with a small club head(ping zing)
and play with a monster head (taylormade r7)???
can anyone tell me if im wrong??
i will apreciate guide, help and response

Your mistake is in thinking that practice swings in the house without a ball results in sucessful feedback of what you think is a good or bad swing.

All you are doing is moving your body around burning calaries...like arobics. Nothing wrong with that. But that is all it is.

Getting feedback on what was a good swing is only going to be done at a driving range or course where you get to see the results of the ball's flight.

Re: a question to all the golfers in our comunity

      I'm with Greg.

Practice doesn't make perfect - practice makes permanent.

If you can't see what the ball is doing, how do you know if you're releasing through the ball properly?

How can you tell if you're drawing or fading?

How do you tell if you're setting up the same way, every time?

How do you tell if your playing the same ball position?

Swinging without a target or a ball is, like Greg said, good exercise. It's not very good for actually monitoring your swing progress.

It's why I'm hesitant to hit into a net all winter long. My plan is to videotape my swing when I'm hitting the ball well, then use that as reference in the winter. If I'm hitting into a net, I'll be taping my swing, looking for deviances from my 'good' summer swing. But I'll be very aware that I may end up doing more harm than good, if I cannot see the ball flight.

You are doing your head in! You need to decide on one club and go to the range. Dont expect results immediately but given time and practice you will developa routine(hopefully!)
