Goodafter noon all. I recently bought new Cobra 3100 I/H Irons. I only have one problem with them. The shot trajectory is crazy high, and i cant figure out what the problem is. My club head speed is about 105-110 and maybe my shots are high because I have regular flex shafts. Can anyone help me to bring down my ball flight? I have a tourney in a week and need to fix this problem!

At that speed your club shaft is to light. Cobra clubs have high ball flight and if the ball is to far foreward you will hit the ball on the up swing. You should change the flex or slow down the swing. I would change the flex and let them rip.

Would you recommend that reshaft with stiff or extra stiff True Temper's? Stiffer the flex. lower the ball flight if im not mistaken.

        I'd recommend selling the Cobras.

They're a game improvement iron, designed to do two things, primarily:

        1) Not lose as much distance on mishits; ie be more forgiving than other clubs.

        2) Get the ball waaay up in the air.

Switching shafts will help, but not as much as getting new heads.

Yea the thing is i just paid 300 dollars for them and only played like 3 rounds with them. Should i try switching to stiff shafts and see what that does or just get whole new clubs. Which clubs would work for my sorta high club head speed? Thanks

Less offset, less sole weighting, less deep sole weighting (ie a shallower cavity). These things will lower your ball flight. When the center of gravity is away from the face and low, the ball is going to get up. When it's near the face and higher, the ball flight comes down.

Still go with a cavity back - you want that perimeter weighting to keep your mishits long.

high ball flight is good. You must look at were you play and wind. I swing around that speed and i have a high ball flight. I have tayormade rac and they are stiff. But i tried them out first then bought. You might have to lose that money and get new clubs.

So would it be a smart idea to get 7 iron reshafted to a stiff tempers and see if that corrects it or just sell the ones i have and get whole new irons. I appreciate the advice alot. Hit em straight

A good pro shop should let you try a club and then you will see if you like the club. you are spending a good chunk of money. I don't by a new truck with out trying it out

Yes - when reshafting, just reshaft one, and see.

Thanks for all of yalls replies but i got one more quick quesion. If i were to get new irons i would more than likely go with taylor mades. I was looking at the Rac OS irons. What have you heard about TM's and any other good irons for 4 to 5 hundred range?

Hi I have the taylor made rac os in stiff shaft. I love them. You should get last years at about 600 canada pricing. I paid 900 last year and my boy just paid 600 for last years clubs. You will like the look at set up. You will find them easier to hit. I find the sole of the club has some wait to it and i like the feel.
