Hello all! Nice to be here. Quick info on me; 8 h/c, once a week player, hit balls at least once on top of that, have started to focus more on my game away from the range and course, used to be a great short game player who lacked distance and now I am a big hitter (270ish carry) who has lost some of that "pure contact" my irons and wedges used to have.

Used to fight a slice. Now I fight a push left or bad shots with my driver are hard draws/hooks.

I really dont want to give up the distance, however, I want to regain my trajectory with my mid to low irons/wedges and also get more consistant accuracy. If I loose a little power, so be it. But I can't imagine it would be a huge loss.

    So....

    1) I feel I do have a O/I path. Even though at times I feel I have come from the inside and still push it left. I have been working on getting into the "pro slot." Which I describe as the seperation of the hips and shoulders with laterial movement as well as a laterial "drop" of the right elbow to the right hip. Make sense? Please correct if I got it all wrong What can I do to make that happen more? I want a I/O path with a nice little draw on ALL my shots. I know how to hit a fade But then again, I might not know how to hit it the right way.

    2) Last time out I shanked 3 SWs. Couldn't believe it. Hit a drive 317 with a baby draw to dead center of the fairway. I was 90 yrds out. Pure hozzle shank way right. How do I stop that? I think its a combo of head coming up and decelerating. Tips or drills to prevent that?

I want to spend more time getting better at my game then just going to the range and beating balls. I want drills to work on at home and at the range.

Thank you to all and I look forward to the responses!

I'm not a pro by any strech, but I've had my troubles with irons and I've seamed to get over it, by taking time before each swing to relax and remember to swing through the ball rather than at it, I also found if I concentrate on keeping my head down I hit more consistant iron shots. As for your drive I think you might have to give up the distance at least till you get your swing plane where you want it, I found the harder I swing the more pronounced my problem is (SLICE!!! due to my outside in swing). I hope this helps some, this is the best advice I can give and it just from my experience.

Totally agree with swinging thru the ball. I am getting used to accelerating from the half way point instead of ripping at it from the top. This lets me seperate my hips and keep my shoulders lagging a little. Accelerating from the half way point is really helping bring back my low irons/wedges.

Keeping my head down is another. I do tend to pick up and I think it causes me to hit behind the ball. This is usually from swinging too hard.

I am really focusing on tempo. Becomming more of a feel player and clearing my head of crazy thoughts. I realize I dont need to swing so damm hard to hit the ball a long way.
