  • help plz!!

    Hi all,
i dont know how to post videos yet but once i figure it out i will so i might get some better help. until then ill just ask. i feel i have a fairly decent swing, i consistently hit my 3 wood over 250, but lately i have been swinging under the ball alot and getting to much dirt. this has been more a problem with my irons. i have some new taylormade 320s with rifle r90 shafts comming in today and i hope to give them the initial test today. any i ideas on what to try. i think i might be dropping my right shoulder but im not sure. plz help me fix this problem.
    Thank you

Try Hitting The Ball With Feet Together And A 3/4 Swing. I Had The Same Problem And My Instructor Had Me Doing This Drill And It Helped. He Then Had Me Hit With A Split Stance, Back Toe To Heal Of Forward Foot, Feet About 6" Apart. Don't Know Why This Helped, But It Did

Do the feel together drill defitely.

Also, make sure you are turning your shoulders not dipping. If you are catching really fat then you are changing the rotation of your swing. Check your hip turn.

the reason this drill works is
        1) prevents you from overswinging
        2) keep you stable over the ball
        3) Stops over active leg movement

Re: hitting up on the ball dropping the right shoulder. I'm going to take a guess you have a reverse pivot. i.e. your weight is ending up on the left foot at the top of your backswing and to get through the ball you are dropping your right shoudler. Check the following
        1) Grip - if too weak can promote a more upright swing
        2) Alignment - if aimed too right can promote casting - ie pulling the club to get the shot online
        3) Stance - If too upright can pull the club inside and weight will go to the left foot. you may need more tilt at address.

The above are generic recommendations without seeing your swing, however, reverse pivoting is a very common fault.
