I noticed that when I take back the club with an upper body turn and no hands until they are waist high and then use my shoulders/and arms a bit to the top of the back swing I feel the weight of the club head on the top and get a "loaded" - ready to
go feeling.
Before I used to take back the club with my arms (not hands) in
front of the body and picked up the club long before my hands were paralell with my hips. That gave me a very scary feeling on the top and more or less always produced a poor shot.
This happened because I've been told over and over again to
avoid swinging the club around the upper body resulting in moving the club in front of the body and then straight up with my arms / less shoulder turn.
Now I get a feeling of my hands being "low" in the backswing and
confidence at the top.
Am I on the right track?
