  • straight arm set up

This might be a dumb question. Is there any merit to setting up with left arm
with the club straight to ball. I tried it today with a little success. For some reason it felt right. I just dont want to get in more bad habits. Thanks for any advice.

    Hi BigGuy6,
I think you are ok with this. Most teachers advocate that the arm should be an extension of the shaft. Hope this helps.

        Robert:
Yes, the left arm, assuming your grip is correct, should be fairly straight to shaft but its the right arm which also hangs down naturally from shoulders that needs to be placed on grip last and is below left with a slight tilt to the right so spine and head are tilting behind the ball; for driver this allows you to have ascending impact path while for irons not as much so you have descending impact path.
