  • Perfect Impact Golf Swing

In relation to Greg's RHD, you hit shots pretty much with your shoulders as you're in a locked position with the hands.

Is this how the full swing works. Should I feel that my hands are locked and my shoulders just turn around my body and return the clubhead to the ball for impact.

I think point of the drill is to teach the proper way to hinge the club without flicking at the ball, while promoting proper hip movement and shoulder rotation. There may be some tension while practicing the DRILL. However, IMO once these movement are more ingrained, the muscles in the SWING, including the wrists, should be relaxed. It is usually not a good idea to incorporate tension or locking into a swing, because these positions should happen naturally.
