  • help with the driver?

I played on thursday after a three weak spell out of the game after an operation and was on the whole reasonably satisfied with my results. Once I got my head down and loosened up, my iron shots seemed to be ok - reasonably straight and long. I could just not grasp the driver, it was appalling. I had a big low hook and struggled to strike it properly resulting in it barely reaching 200 yards when my 6 iron was going about 165! I think I may being hitting down on the ball as if it were an iron instead of sweeping it away but am not totally sure and would be pleased to hear your views.

Would very much appreciate it if you could reply before Saturday as it happens to be a medal and I want to get this problem sorted out before then. Thanks.

It is hard to say with limited info.... do you have a right shoulder tilt (for right handed players) that helps you hit it on the up swing (make sure you keep you head still and don't move foward with the swing) that could be a cause for bad contact. That is all I can think of, HTH.

I played with a local PGA Pro yesterday, and he made a change in my grip so that my palms would both be facing the ground. It kind of made it so that my left hand was a stronger grip and my right was weaker (Im Right Handed) And it straightened out my drives and added distance. Worked for me dont know if it would work for u every golfer is different. Just trying to help.
