What is the best way to hit a fairway wood? My short to mid irons are fine.
My driver is usually straight to a slight draw. The fairway woods though are a disaster!!!! Appreciate any help.... Thanks

My biggest problems with the fairway woods are topping. When I do get the ball in the air it is usually a low line drive. Thanks for the reply slater170.

        hi bigGuy
im no expert but this was very much a problem for me until recently.
i solved it by having same ball position as long irons and making a 3/4 swing with a low slow takeaway and trying to sweep th ball off the fairway. i also have my hands fractionally in front of ball at address.
other than that make sure youre spine angle is contant through the swing.
hope that is of some help

Need some confidence big fella. Get out onto the range.

Don't try and rip it - perhaps think 70 percent. Work on your finish.

Also try hitting with your mouth open. I know that this sounds funny but I do this in my short game. Coach told me to cause I wasn't breathing during the shot. Infact, I try and do this on every shot.

Set up as you would like Slats suggested. I don't know about having the hands forward though???

Fairway woods are quite handy especially when having trouble off the tee or the hole and or conditions don't allow you to use the driver.

I reckon when you fix this problem you'll see improvement when using your driver too.
