My son as asked me to post his swing, I personnally think this is tour standard down and through the ball.

Great looking swing and lovely balance. He'll be some player IF he keeps it up when he discovers beer and women in a few years

And Ian, you best start saving as I think your lad could be winning the pound in the weekly family trophy each week before long

I'd be worried that he will crippled by the time he is 30, I remember when my back used to arch like that, Im only 28 now and it already hurts!
Also, are they cutdown clubs?
That driver seems v long.
Better to let him play with cutdowns and adjust as he grows rather than let him get used to a flatter swing and then have it change as he grows...

Thanks for the comments guys especially Greg,

Firstly, he has pestered me for a bigger driver so this is a new one, a little to long but very light and a 460 head with 12 degrees loft, mens regular for obvious reasons 'he hit hard' about 190-200 carry.

I have been tempted to work on his backswing a little, but he eventually achieves the perfect position at the top, club face is square to his dead straight wrist, full shoulder turn etc, downswing is tour standard especially impact.

He is now a full member at this site, as of today so I will let him look at your comments and let him decide if he wants to change his backswing a little. Also he should thank you guys himself.

Goldjeep,

I was very impressed with your comments, Earl was a truly great man, his son will miss him dearly.

My son loves the game and enjoys playing it, however he doesn't like working on his swing and to be quite honest I think to must is posted about mechanics, once we have the basics down, do we need to continue the endless search for mechanical perfection?

What I see in my son is this: He set up very well, his alinement is also very very good even on the course, his backswing is very strange, the club goes in a few funny positions(you guys see one clip I see it all the time) once he gets to the top his shoulders have turned perfect infact his still shot at the top is perfect the clubface is square to his right wrist, the club points to the target and the lag he gets coming down is great, impact is tour perfection this is why he hits so far for such a young age, he was two shots off breaking 90 last week with an 8 on the last hole, he is aged 10.

Is there really anything else we should do as father and son but enjoy the game and see what develops, of course I am a very proud dad like all of you with children are, I will continue to cough and drop my putter when he is putting, I will encourage him with course management, play yardages and the eliments, also enter him in many opens (if he wants me too).

I would like to thank all of you for your comments, they have encouraged him tremendiously, He simply wanted me to show you his swing.

p.s None of you mentioned his driver is clearly to long for him, he wouldn't let me cut anymore off it, six months from now it will fit perfect.
