    Cheffie,
If you strike through the ball without force, You should automatically follow through which in turn will bring your weight forward naturally. I think im right in saying this.

      Re: Weight Transfer

my instructor has me hitting balls off of my front foot only, ball placed on the toe, rear foot beind and upon the toe just enough to be stable, no real weight. when I can hit 4 good shots in a row, I put the rear foot on the ground still behind me with the toe to the heel of front foot with about 6" of space between take 60 40 wieght distrbution 60 on front foot, hit 4 good shots then move to normal stance, 4 more good shots then start over. I repeat this 3 times at the range. This has helped me, probably it's to get you use to the feeling of hitting with the weight forward. I now even hit one footed out of the rough when Im having problems hitting the ball well while playing sometimes. this brings a pit of laughter.... untill i hit it. hope it helps

        Re: Weight Transfer

If I had to guess, you may have a reverse pivot. So your weight is going onto your front foot on the backswing and then transfers to back foot on the downswing. Sooo, for your weight to go the front foot it first needs to get go to the back foot. On the backswing, you should feel some pressure on the inside part of the back foot. On the forward swing, your weight should transfer to the front foot and your back foot should off the ground on your toe. As suggested in a previous post, you can try a Gary Player move and cross the back foot over your front foot to facilitate the idea of weight transfer.

what clubs do you have this problem with? Also, where is the ball position for your wedges, low/middle/high irons, and driver

              Re: Weight Transfer

I think I found a solution to my weight transfer problem - today!
My set up stance was a little too upright and weight transfer - to my RIGHT foot was to much in my back swing. I did not have time to get to my left foot during my swing.

Today I slowed down the start of my downswing and got a good hip rotation. It felt like shooting from my hips. Very nice round!

For an image of weight transfer, I do few practice swings OVER the ball. Like I would be hitting a ball that lies higher than my stance. (Hitting a ball that lies higher than your feet should prevent a slice and promote weight transfer.)
