  • Disparaging remarks by chessbum

Lets get one thing straight, cheesbum probably 18 years old, has stated that I am a piece of **** for mentioning that our fellow Americans behave badly abroad. He probably has no experience with this since he is probably sitting in a 500K house on nantucket, jacking off to britany spears magazines.
Having fought in Vietnam and Cambodia/rowanda for two years, living in mud and fighting snakes, crocs and enemy gunfire, I can tell you that cheesbum would not have survived it.
I merely mention that as Americans we need to behave better; many nights in bars abroad teaches me how badly we behave, when we leave, the bar owners, while happy for our cash, say how stupid we are and how brash and disrespectful we are to their country.
Cheesbum, grow up, grow a beard if you are old enough, and by all means, stop jacking to those mags.

hold up, listen here son. You have no right to stereotype on anyone be it Englishmen, American, black, spanish or anyone. I am in the military and I too have been deployed to to a cambat zone. But just becaue some people be American or not gives you no right to call me and all Americans rude and drunks. Not sure what country you are from, but I garantee there are bad stereotypes about your contry that you don't hear be saying because i don't know you and you could be totaly different from those. Unfortunatly i have to defend my country with a few bad people in it but for the most part i defend it for the good people and the families out there. So before you disrespect a whole county and their people because of a few bad apples, think agian and grow up.

I agree completely. I am glad to debate politics, religion, and stereotypes with anyone, but this site is not the place. Disparaging remarks, whether about the President or one's countrymen, generate a lot of emotional heat and little rational light.

And I am several decades removed from an 18-year-old.

BTW, Robert, I am told that "Moore" (my last name) is a good Irish name. Am I correctly informed?

          Bill

actaully, the drive was 330 ish, cause it was a little down hill, and the five iron was from 200 out and it was a little uphill

to all the new friends i have made on this site.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowances for their doubting too.

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,
If you can think- and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same.

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will which says " hold on !"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
                            If all men count on you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the earth and everything that's in it,
and - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

                            Rudyard kipling.

                            enough said.
