Has anybody tried the Purepoint golf system, any opinions?

I was intrigued by it and signed up for the free emails. My attention is rapt when someone promises a "simple" swing. However, I'm not sure the PurePoint system is all it's cracked up to be.
I did a Google search yesterday, typing the words "purepoint golf" and "forum." I came across this thread: http://www.network54.com/Forum/72052...+Bobby+Eldrige.
PurePoint appears to be the DVD version of Dave Nevogt's "Simple Golf Swing." The emails from satisfied customers on both the PurePoint site (www.purpointgolf.com) and Nevogt's site (www.golfswingguru.com) are the same, but the "To:" has been changed and the name of the product has been changed.
I think it's a great marketing ploy and will make them a lot of money, but not with my contributions.

I signed up to the free emails and they all made a lot of sense which is why I was considering taking the next step.
I've had a lot of trouble with the conventional swing all my life and it was refreshing to hear somebody advocating stuff which is "wrong" according to conventional teaching.Comment

From what I can gather, the PurePoint method is still a conventional golf swing, albeit modified to remove "unnecessary" components. For instance, it advocates not shifting your weight to your right side on the backswing, but it does insist on shifting your weight to the left on the forward swing. It seems that this would put a lot of strain on the lower back with such a backswing.
Still, if you decide to try it out, be sure to report back. I'm not ready to make that $79 investment.
