  • New revelations lead to new questions....

Finally made some progress today. Someoine pointed out to me that I was not creating resistance in my back swing. My new swing thought is turn the right hip and keep resistance inside the thighs.

This seems to create a lot more power and cause me to swing less hard/harsh as the legs are working with the trunk and arms to create the swing.

The two problems that have come with this is a. pushing on short irons and b. slight hooking of long irons. I cured the short iron by opening my stance a bit on all wedges and 9 iron. Still trying to figure out the slight rainbowing effect to the left on longer clubs.

    Any suggestions??

I had a similar more extreme problem. Are your hooks with your long irons mostly pust hooks? With my long irons I was push hooking. For me, I was pushing with short irons because my hips were not clearing early enough and my weight transfer bump to start the downswing was towards the direction I was pushing the ball. Try and make your weight transher down the target line while clearing your hips early.
