Ball Placement In Stance

I am a 10 handicap and cannot get to the point that I am comfortable with the placement of the ball in my stance. I start with my wedge a little behind center then move the ball a little forward for longer clubs. Is there a standard for this?

Wirrenut, I am an 18 hcp, and I have the same problem (after 8 years!!). I hit a lot of shots on the toe. I know it needs moving back, but I feel blocked. I think you're on the right track though.

for ME i never on regular shots put the ball behind center. I put the back of the ball on the center line for wedges, chips as well, and work it up from there. Many pros, I would venter to say most, do not put the ball behind center
