I am getting confused by what is meant exactly by dropping the right elbow into the slot on the downswing. What is the correct movement here and where exactly should the right elbow be going?
Try this.
Assume your normal setup position. Now move your right elbow towards you until it's touching the side of the belly - somewhere above your hip bone. This is the spot that your elbow needs to touch on the downswing through a combination of dropping of the elbow and a synchronized rotation of your right hip.
Failure to do this - when your elbow drops to your side rather than to your belly is what they refer to as being 'stuck'.
The more you allow your right elbow to get behind you on the backswing, the harder it will be to drop it down into the slot.
