  • cure for hooking

went out and shot a 78, first time out in a week(long time for me) did good but drives wernt allowing me to take advantage

i have a bit of a too hard draw, its not really a hook, just too much draw for the course i play, a fade is much more preferable

i have heard about a thicker grip not allowing your hands to turn over so i tried wrapping part of my towel around my grip and hitting with it and i was hitting some pretty fades

is it ok to fix my draw with a thicker grip? is there an easier way? i have a neutral grip and anything weaker makes me hit down on the ball

Hi, sure - you could change your ball flight by changing you grips. It is a pretty easy way of doing it but you have to experiment to what extent you want to thicken your grip and what result any change produces. There will be A LOT of experimentation.

My advice would be rather work on squaring the club face up at impact. The strong draw you get is from a closed club face. Work on trying to get your hands back to the alignemnt they were at address. Harder than I sounds I know, but it'll be correct thing to do.

But - never forget that the modern game is an equipment-driven game and if an equipment change works, mission accomplished.

i think i figured it out, i have been starting the shaft out behind the ball, before when my draw wasnt as bad i was starting hands a little in front of the ball (this is with my driver, my iron shots have still been good)

i read somewhere about this last night but today i forgot about it all the way till the last hole and i zapped one about 280 it felt good
