Focus particularly on your short game - basic repeatable chips and pitches along with solid putting. As well as this make sure you can make a consistent strike that goes reasonably straight as often as possible with your irons!
I've just started breaking 90 on a regular basis this year - most people will tell you to improve your short game, which is valuable of course, but your tee shot is equally as important.
I believe the best way to start breaking 90 is to do three things:
1. Take some lessons - simply put, nothing will do more for your game.
2. Take three putts out of your game as much as possible - you will never break 90 regularly if you three putt more often than not.
3. Be confident on the tee and put your ball in the fairway. A good tee shot gives you confidence for the hole - a bad one leaves you scrambling for the rest of the hole and you will start getting frustrated.
Make 5 your target score for every hole. If your tee shot is reasonably long and reasonably straight, even with an average iron game, you should be able to get your ball on the green lying three more often than not. Then if you two putt you make a 5.
If you pick up a par here and there, don't panic on the par 5's and take advantage of one or two of the par 3's, you'll be breaking 90 every time.
thanks for the reply samburk i focus on my short game most i have to because i can't hit it very far. [Because i'm ten] if it was'nt for my short game i would not be of 27.

come on england!
hi liam
ive got a good feeling about today so im going for 2-0 or 3-1
im sure we gonna win today and we can beat portugal or holland in the next round if we do so im thinking we should get to the semi finals at least!
When you practise on the course play two balls and then play the ball that landed in the worst position and play two from there. Then choose the worst position out of the two balls you played from the first bad position. This will help you to get better, especially with the short game as you will have tough short game shots but it will help you improve.
