I know what i think are the poor points of my swing but interested to hear other opinions / help.

    Cheers!

    WOW,

Is that you or Adam Scott with his hat pulled down, you clearly have a very good swing with excellent mechanics, I am not going to attempt to critique.

I suggets you work more on your chipping and putting, if thats as good as your swing then maybe mental side to help with scoring.

A truly great swing, would like to see video to look at Tempo maybe.

Your swing looks nice. If I had to be critical for your benefit I would say that in picture number five your right knee is pointing out away from the ball and your left knee is pointing more towards the ball and less in.
At the top of the back swing you want your weight on the inside of the right foot with the right knee pointing in more. The left knee wants to go back towards the right knee more than towards the ball.
      Hit em' straight!

        Hi pal. nice swing.

My main issues are with your address, it looks a little too narrow ( do others agree ? ),
I have a couple of check points for you.

        1) widen your stance by moving your right foot to the right ( about the width of your shoe) this will help promote a nice , low take away.
        2) tilt your spine away from the target a little , this will lower your right shoulder and will help you to catch the ball on the upswing at impact.
3 Your club shaft points up to your zipper. Try moving it so it points up to the inside of your left thigh, ideally should be an extension of your left arm.

All the the above will really improve your take away .
As your set up looks now ( apart from your ball position ) , it looks like you are setting up for a mid-iron.

Take a look at tigers address ( attachment )

        good luck pal

A very nice looking swing, you seem to have quite a bit a lag on the way down and nice width to your swing.

I am not going to try and fault it. Out of interest though you say you know areas that need improvement - what do you think they are?

Are you just looking at the full swing or have you analysed your game performance to see were you lose shots (e.g round the greens, putting, missing fairways, hitting long, left, right?). What is you bad shot?

Not that I will be able to solve these but I am interested as I have gone though this process and saved 8 shots just on putting and chipping (and learnt that the driver is not the best option on every hole over 300 yards!).

          Great looking swing though.

Looks great, but your most glaring fault is that your right foot is completely on the toe at impact. You do a good job of maintaining your spine angle where most other people would lose it having that move. It probably causes your arms to get trapped behind you, rather than giving your room for your right elbow to pass in front of your right hip in time. Do you lose the ball right pretty often?

Based on your sequence, you're most likely a much better golfer than I am, but I think you would benefit greatly from letting that right foot get pulled off the ground, rather than letting it come up intentionally. You probably don't do it intentionally anymore, but that foot is coming up on its own, not getting pulled up.

...and I don't mean to stir the pot, but I disagree with most of the advice given here thus far (minus perhaps getting the grip pointing more to the inside of your left thigh). I see your tilt being fine, your width as fine, and it's impossible to make a full backswing and have your right knee continue to point at the ball. It needs to swivel out when you pivot, if the hips are to turn at all. So long as you maintain the flex of your right knee (which you do) you're good to go.

Re: Swing Sequence up for critique!

Thanks for the comments guys - I don't currently have a handicap - but suffice to say I am pretty poor on occasions - capable of hitting birdies one hole and 8's the next. Would be around a 14 I think - course management is pretty poor!

My stock shot is a fade, and I find it nigh on impossible to draw the ball. Agree my foot rises off the floor rather quickly that is something I am working on now - no matter how hard I try, pushing off the floor with my right foot seems to be an ingrained downswing starter.

Maybe that is what is stopping me getting through the ball and hitting out to the right? I think I lack extension through impact and whip the club more around my body rather than up and over for a high finish - stupidly i didn't add those shots!

Ah, so you are only showing us the good swings!

Seriously though, it looks good. I would work on your shot makng in that case, I tend to spend my range time by hitting 20 balls as I would want a stock shot, then 30 short game shots (pitches, chips etc) then another 10 working on a particular type of shot (punch, fade, draw etc).

On course management you need to review why you hit an 8 on a hole (was it a bad drive put you in trouble, or duffed chips, or three putting).

Record this for a few rounds and see where the weaknesses are.

This then gives you two things to work on, first is building a decent game plan for the course and secondly areas to work on at the range/practice green.

Hope that helps, works for me.
