  • Help!

This is only my second year playing and I've worked hard to simplify my swing and also I've worked a lot on my short game and it's paid off. I've recently had two rounds in the mid/upper 80's which for me is great.

I played two days ago and everything just fell apart. I was slicing, topping, hitting fat and I popped up 2 drives..something I don't think I've done in 2 years. It was a new course and it was very hot and I could feel myself getting more and more frustrated as the round went on.

I'm not trying to make excuses, just wondered what any of you do when things turn ugly like that?

I tried slowing down and being a bit more deliberate...hit a lot of 3/4 swings and punch shots towards the end and it went a bit better but I'm playing this wknd and twice next week and don't want a repeat of what happened last Monday.

Any other suggestions to help me relax and get back in the groove?

Thanks very much - Andy F.

    Re: Help!

Hi Andy , Like you my game tends to fall apart in the hot weather. Sweat in the eyes ,a feeling of frustration at shots lost. I try to slow things down a tad when its really hot. If your game gets any worse I would suggest a quick lesson from your local golf pro. He can look at your swing and help sort out some of the inconsistecies, albeit not in one lesson

      Re: Help!

Thanks John. You're right....it all adds up and increases the frustration. I'll try slowing things down. Take care.
