  • Looking Up Through The Shot

The most destructive part of my game is looking up through the shot, no-matter whether it's driving, fairway, pitching, chipping or putting, this bad habit is a shot destroyer.

I guess the only bit of good advise is to stop doing it and keep your eye on the ball until it's gone. If you have any remedies then please let me know?

    Regards
    Brian

brian, looking up is not the cause of your problems but rather the effect of another problem, It sounds as if you are coming over the top
do this, go outside with a club and take three practice swings and try to come over the top as much as you can and pay attention to what your head does now take three practice swing and swing inside out and focus on what your head does. do that and get back with the results
    good luck

      Hi Neil

Thanks for your message. I have quite a nice in to out swing and worked hard on eliminating coming over the top some time ago to rid a slice. I still think the problem is looking up to early to see where the ball has gone before contact. When I force myself to keep looking at where the ball was after it has gone I get my best shots.

      Thanks
      Brian

        Brian,

This is a trick my father taught me years ago that will work. Pick a piece of grass just behind Your ball and keep Your eye on it through the shot then bend over and pick it up BEFORE You look to see where it goes. Do this for awhile and it will help.
