  • Deep divots on irons...

Guys I have a problem with chunking my irons and woods on the fairways.... I am hitting my driver just fine though, dead straight out around 250+ yards.. I would love to learn how to hit my irons good one of these days!!!

okay for example on my 5 iron I play the ball 1-2 inches right of left foot and I have played the ball center of my stance also.... Wedges I always play off the right foot....

        Hi jrock
A fairway wood and a long iron contact the ball right at the bottom of the swing arc, as opposed to a short or a mid-iron where the ball is struck as the clubhead is descending, and a tee shot with a driver where contact is made as the clubhead begins its ascent.
You have to pay close attention to your ball position for your chosen club.

if you sre still expeiencing problems then it must be a swing fault as opposed to a fault with your ball position.
        cheers

I have heard that you if take a few practice swings before you hit the ball it will tell you where to basically position the ball right?

            hi jrock .
            yes. exactly my mate.
the best advice i can offer ( because i cannot see your swing ) , is to visit a local pro or film your swing and upload it onto this site.
            cheers mate
