    i have a habit of going through power losses. one week i will be hitting the ball 10-20 yards farther than i will the next week. i am a 4 handicap and i have to rely on my short game alot. i have a hard time getting my weight transfered to my right side during my backswing. i have a habit of not transfering it back. i guess you could call it a reverse pivot.....but i dont think it is necesarily a bad reverse pivot. i have seen worse though.if anyone has any suggestions on my power loss besides the one i just talked about.....it would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

    Try this on the range your next outting before you play. Setup normally, then as you swing back to the top, slide your lead foot, (left foot if you are right handed) back to your rear foot and touch them, replace your foot as you swing down to the original position. This forces you to shift your weight, in both directions.

      Hi Billy,

      I guess you are referring to your drives, I would also guess by your handicap that you have a fairly good golf swing.

      I would suggest this could be caused by failing to have relaxed muscles in your shoulders, arms and grip. Tight muscles can reduce the efficiency of your swing by a great amount.

      A simple example is to hold a foot rule midway along between your thumb and fingers, rotate your wrist one way then the other as fast as you can with a relaxed grip, see how fast you can do it. Now gradually tighten your grip and see how the process slows up and shortens. This is what happens in the golf swing.

      Focus on relaxing these muscles prior to and during your swing, you may be surprised by the results.
