  • Simple Golf Swing

Saw this web ad for the Simple Golf swing by a David http://www.simplegolf.com/
Anybody heard of this or tried it? I found some limited access in his site and it seems to have some appeal with a preset impact position, limited movement and a somewhat rotary swing. I don't see how you keep from hooking with the extremely strong grip though.

Just looked at the address postion. It is so far from the traditional setup that is it is difficult to believe this is effective. Their is no spine tilt, no wrist hinge, you are reaching for the ball and from that address postion, it would appear the club would go way behind you and get stuck. I guess whatever works. Mike.

If you are referring to sympleswing from simplegolf (not the other simplegolf site), I have been using it since March of this year. It does work. Hooking may occur, but its because of extraneous body movement, not the grip.

That swing style just seems ackward and jerky. No smoothness at all. The one guy would stop his backswing half way through. That's a good way to sprain something.

I tried the simple golf swing. It probable works for some people, it didn't for me. I wish I had known what it was about before I paid, I would have saved my money.

            Re: Simple Golf Swing

I've checked this out and does exactly what it says on the tin - simple swing (more of a half swing really) no weight shift/wrist cock etc. Yes you keep it straight but i would suggest most people would with a half swing.

Only for beginners or people with physical impairments.

              Re: Simple Golf Swing

The swing was designed for beginners and high-HCP, but a number of mid and low HCP players use it too. I'm a beginner (began playing in Jan 06 and regularly since March 06), and before using it I did break 100 twice, but normally I shot in the 120s. During my last 10 rounds, all using this swing, my scores have been in the 90-95 range, for the most part, although I broke 90 twice during this time. Was this due to the swing? It is partly because I trust the swing, which allows me to concentrate more on developing a sound short game, effective course management, etc. As far as distance goes, I drive in the 240-250 yd range and my 7i is consistently 155-160 yd. It is a compact, yet smooth swing.

I have screwed around with the chipping style of this program, (they give you this free) and it works. The full swing may bring me to a revisit of Natural Golf which, I tried for 2 years, and that means lack of distance and lots of hooks. We'll see, I ordered it. Will report back.

                  Re: Simple Golf Swing

In a quandry now, I tried the Symple golf swing (not to be confused with th Simple golf swing) this last Saturday after practicing for a week with it. After the first 2 holes I went back to my old swing and shot my best round of the summer so far, carding a 77. Now I guess I will practice the Symple swing and play with my old swing. This game truly is maddening.

I am referring to the SympleSwing system, and you're right that it's easy to confuse w/the other Simple Golf Swing. BTW, how was your practice w/SS?
