Re: perfect compliment to RH drill

      Doogkie,

I used the grip with all my iron shots AND my 20 degree hybrid. I used my normal grip with my driver.

I was hitting the ball so well with this grip, that frankly, I was afraid to go back to my normal grip.

I am going to try to play again tomorrow now that I am back home. I'll let you know how I do.

      Thanks again.

P.S. What part of the US are you located in? I am in Ohio...

Re: perfect compliment to RH drill

          Doogkie,

Okay, more good news. I played on one of my favorite courses today. It is a LONG course but not too much trouble. It is a good test (72.4/113) par 72.

I used the new grip again on all iron shots including pitches and my 20 degree hybrid. I was striking the ball superbly with much more accuracy than I have ever had.

I scored a new personal course record (for me) with an 89. This included one blow-up hole where I carded a 9. Leading up to this hole I had 6 consecutive pars in a row. I can still see the approach shots landing softly on the green new the pin; what a feeling.

Keeping all my scores and my handicap, I have now dropped to a 19 handicap with these latest successes. I have not been below 20 for several years. I expect more successes.

Again, ball-striking is so crisp and accurate!! I can only attribute it to this feel that your tip has.

I would also like to know what Greg J. Willis thinks about it.

Thanks again. I am a happy camper....

ive even hit some birdie balls with that grip and it works perfect

Thanks for this tip, doogkie! This may be a real help to my problem with concentrating on moving my hands beyond impact point before releasing the clubhead.

I'm eager to try this in today's practice session!

Re: perfect compliment to RH drill

I tried it today (and was meaning to this past week), but for some reason, I could not get any release on the ball...all my shots went weak left.

I see the idea as being very similar to the RHD, but it didn't work very well as a drill or an alternate way to grip the club.

This doesn't mean anything, other then my first attempt to replicate it was without any successful feedback.

Re: perfect compliment to RH drill

yeah greg i dont get get a good release with it when i hit balls with it but after practice swinging with it i can hit the ball and maintain the angle and have a good release

u already have a good swing so i dont see how it could help you as much, but i think it would be good to show someone what you mean by maintaining the angle

Re: perfect compliment to RH drill

Agreed. When I first tried it in a non-practice swing, it was a nice feel, that angle set and I can see it doing the same thing as the Norman Secret, so still all good in it's idea. Good find!

I'm fairly new to this site, and cannot find Greg's Right Hand Drill with the Search feature.

                        Can anyone provide the link?

                        Thank you.

Thank you, lgskywalker, for providing the link. I never thought to do a Google search!

I like Greg's video snippets, too. You're right; there seems to be more good drills on Greg's site than the RHD.

What is the history on the "Sarazen Grip". I tried to do a little research on the internet but couldn't find anything specifically on the "Sarezen Grip".

Anybody know anything more on it. I am just curious.

                                Hi Chess
Because Gene sarazen had such small hands , he tended to use the baseball style grip.

                                cheers
