  • Shoulders, Shoulders, Shoulders

In practicing my take away in front of a mirror, I realized that I am starting my take away with a slight down tilt of the left shoulder, rather than a smooth shoulder TURN. I would think that this changes your spine angle, and would cause you to have to make some pretty dramatic corrections, either in the rest of the backswing, or downswing. Is this as bad as I think it is? I tend to come over the top with my downswing, and am losing distance. I also have problems going thru the ball. My mind says "hit it and quit". Are these things inter-related.

    Hello again Hyper2

I read your post in my thread and maybe the way you phrased it is better, I'll be watching both threads.

100% on the shoulder tilt ... it's impossible to move your shoulders in any direction without moving your spine ... it forms a T ...

I recently had been doing the same thing and it resulted in a lot of fat shots. Turning shoulders around spine slowly, instead of a dip and around with less of a weight shift in my legs has helped me. When I rush the backswing even a little bit it happens, I am swaying back with a dip and then ball is hit fat. Go much slower for awhile, really be conscious of just that and see what happens.
