  • head behind ball at impact

i believe my head and body is ahead of the ball at impact, i dont hit real low shots, but it seems like im infront of the ball too much

anyone know of anyway to help this, a little drill or swing thought?

Start with 50/50 balance throughout the whole swing. Even going back, don't try to put any extra weight then is necessary. Going through is just rotating and staying right over center.

You will naturally have the weight transfer to where it need to go without having to consciencly moving it there.

      greg makes a good point,
I find I tend to do this when I dont load into my right side. If my rear knee raises up I am not loaded so I dont automatically unload into my left. Since I cant unload into my left side, meaning my hips shift forward, my subconcious realizes that I need to get over to my left so I lunge at the ball, and I do that with my upper body. My advice, make sure you dont sway over top of your rear foot on the back swing, but turn into it. I also find that a loss of spine angle can cause me the same problems as well. I feel this all goes hand in hand with what greg said as well. you do move a little off the ball on the back swing but that will happen without trying. But the golf swing is opposites so if you sway back then you will sway forward, find the balance, find the balance

yeah i think ive been coming out with my right knee a little bit cause when i make practice swings i feel tension on the inner part of my right thigh but when i swing theres non of the tension

oh yeah and the tension is there when i dont conciously shift to my back foot

Certain things we remember on the range. Certain things we forget. I always forget about having that tension building on my right side. I don't RP, but I also don't get to 20/80 all the time.

However, I love the 50/50 advise. Try it with low irons, works wonderfully. You don't need a huge shift because you need to desend on the ball.

there is a difference between ON your right side and INTO your right side. if you go onyour right side, that is OVER your right foot and you will not want to shift forward with your hips. If you go INTO your right, which is not over your right foot, you will AUTOMATICALLY push off your right side before you arms get to the top. WHen a pitcher loads up into the rubber of the mound he is not over the rubber but loaded into/against it

              Doogkie,

A key - imagine a triangle. The point of which is your head and the base being your feet. Try and stay within it's boundries. Head can sway a little to your right but not passed the point on your follow though.

hmmmmm...ok. So what you are saying is don't over shift the weight to the right side or you will not be able to naturally shift back to the left....?

yes that is what I am saying
maybe you are coming out of your spine angle, which will cause the problems. You can do this, take a mirror and put tape on it with your address spine angle. Now since our chest is what is in front of us, and our back is behind us, imagine a line in your chest then swing to the top and make sure the imaginary line in the chest matches the line on your mirror or the angle can actually INCREASE a little. when you do this you keep spine angle, load INTO your rear side, keep the right knee flex, and unload without think much about it. let me know if that helps
                  good luck in the search
