Chunked Drives?!?!?!?!?!
Hey, I can hit my iron perfectly but lately when i have my driver in my hands i feel unconfident and i am chunking with it! it kinda feels like i am coming in to steep in my swing path with the driver, but i am not sure. any help?

you do have to change your swing path a bit when hitting drive, it can't be as steep as with you irons, i would say try to move you hands farther away from your waist then with an iron to straiten out you arm to club angle.
put some masking tape (verylightly) on your driver face for a makeshift impact tape and see exactly where you are hitting it at, that may help.
another thing is that you may be casting with your driver or have to fast of an upper body unwind causing you to hit the gorund first. you can't hit the ball from the top so don't try. still unwind slow and steady first, then last minute release into the ball as hard as you want, just not to early. and coming from over the top can cause you to chunk or hit fat.
you might also want to place the ball on the insed of your leading heel and hit with a bit of an upswing by haveing a slight upper body tilt (away from the target).

The ball is off the inside of my left heel in my stance a little forward of the center. I think my upper body is going a bit fast, and i am trying a little to hard, as said in the second post. Thanks, guys.Originally posted by shootin4par

Iron divots point where? I know you said you hit them fine but that does not mean your path is correct. In golf always take the easiest and quickest fix and work back wards from thereComment
