  • Teeing up

I recollect reading an article by Padraig Harrington where he advises beginners to always tee up even on short par 3's. He didnt go into details but i presume he meant that the ball should be very slightly off the ground, 1 cm or so. Whats your view on this and what it would do to judging posture as described in Greg's posture drill?
    Appreciate your views.

    Re: Teeing up

Always tee up!Yes even on short par threes
Even though with irons you need a descending blow at impact by using a tee it gives you a little extra lift and generally a cleaner strike
You can buy tees that are very small, i think your estimate -1cm is a good height so make sure there is brething space beetween the bottom of the ball and the turf/mat
If you want to test whether it is worth using a small tee then take one shot off the turf and one off the tee
keep your posture the same with a tee as without
    it works for me

    Hope you work it out
    good luck

I concur. Tee up whenever possible. Par 3s should have the ball sitting on the tallest piece of grass. Why risk taking away any opportunity to give yourself any legal advantage? Games hard enough.
