had a lesson recently and it was obvious from the slow motion camera replay that amongst my faults [ 14 hcap ] i was casting from the top complete with chicken wing. My downswing at this time consisted of a small knee / hip slide to the left followed by a full hip turn, all club speed coming from my sliding / rotating hips. My tutor was trying to get me to fold my left arm on the throughswing and the only way i could achieve this was to "throw" the club with my right hand whilst slide / turning, is this right??
I remember an article by Rob Baker in which he said Jack Nicklaus had no notion of a late hit but threw the club powerfully from the top so long as his body was turning .
I visited the pro as i was straight pulling every shot.
The throwing action does give the feeling of the wrists working through impact but i don't want to practise and inbuild another fault, thoughts please, Blacky.
