  • Toe ...Toe ...Toe

I only manage to play once per week .... i picked up a bad habit a couple of years ago and can't get rid of the problem. I can wear a spot on my driver right in the middle of the sweet spot, but on my irons I'm wearing a spot towards the toe. This is just driving me nuts!!!! I've lost distance .. that is I have to hit one more club on all yardages. The feel from not hitting the irons on the sweet spot also bothers me. I've seen two local pro's so far (thinking it may be a posture problem) and they can't figue it out. Thanks for any advise in advance.

    szwaj,

You may be having a perception problem. As the irons get shorter and are closer the angle on which you view them is changing. What seems like a square setup ussually isn't. A PW will almost look like it is on the heel side more than centered.

Have a friend help you. You setup to the ball where you think it a centered on the clubface. Then have your friend move it to the proper location. If what is actually centered on the clubface is not what you think it is centered, you must adjust your brain to this new location.

Just like they say feel and real are not the same thing. Just find out what real "really" is!!!

This problem is caused by an out to in path

You're upper body is uncoiling too soon. The club is then thrown to the outside and the clubs toe contacts the ball instead of the sweet spot.
